Visio Divina, or Divine Seeing, is a the practice of deeply contemplating images and artworks for spiritual enlightenment and a direct encounter with metaphysical reality.
Like all forms of contemplation and meditation, Visio Divina requires that you slow down and focus intently on a singular image for long enough that first impressions, habitual assumptions and fixed perceptions can be transcended.
Visio Divina invites us to see at a more contemplative pace. It invites us to see all there is to see, exploring the entirety of the image.
